Bad habits… We all have them. Some habits are worse than others but boy oh boy can they be hard to quit!
I hope you enjoy the 5 Bad Habits I Have That I Hate
1. Nail Biting
Biting my nails is absolutely my least favorite habit that I possess. It is something that I do when I’m anxious or nervous, which has been frequently for the past 2 years. I have tried the majority of polishes that are made to end nail-biting and nothing seems to work. I never go and get a manicure because I am insecure about the way my nails look like because of their shortness. At this point, it seems like this habit is just something I will have to get used too and live with forever.
2. Forgetting to Put Lids Back on EVERYTHING
This habit was brought to my attention when my boyfriend and I started dating 3.5 years ago. He pointed out that I never put the lid back on my toothpaste, and that it was going to dry out. At the time I didn’t think much of it, however, I now notice that I ALWAYS forget to put lids on. Another example is after washing my hair I never close the lids to my shampoo and conditioner. I genuinely don’t know why. Especially because it causes water to get into my stuff which is very annoying. SOS How do I stop this habit?!?!
3. Playing with my Hair
This habit goes hand in hand with nail-biting. Whether I’m nervous, anxious, or bored I always play with a section of hair. It doesn’t even matter if my hair is up in a ponytail or down on my shoulders; I still can’t stop doing this!!! I know it can be annoying for other people around me which is why I would love to be able to break this habit. Do you have any tips for me??
4. Leaving Clothes on my Bedroom Floor
I swear this habit will make me sound like a messy 13-year-old girl, however, I am sooo bad for leaving my clothes on the floor. There are days where I get home from work/school and immediately throw some comfy pajamas on and leave my “daytime clothing” on the floor. Why do I do this you ask? I am simply lazy… that’s it. However, the laundry machine is seriously 10 steps from my bedroom and I WILL be trying to fix this habit from here on out.
5. Leaving the Light on
I actually broke this habit a couple of years ago, HOWEVER, I am not kidding when I say I always left every single light on all the time! It took me a long time to quit this since I did this subconsciously. My family and boyfriend would get so annoyed by this as it is a complete waste of energy. I finally paid attention when I would leave a room because I knew that this was just silly. After thinking about this one, it is obvious that I did this because I really dislike the dark (yes I’m a child honestly). All in all, I am happy this one is no longer an issue even though I did do this for years!
